As a new season draw nears, I feel it’s only fitting to do a post paying tribute to the spring flowers that’s been popping up in the streets of downtown LA. & who better to shoot it with than Chriselle & her Givenchy clutch which represents all things luxurious and LA? For this upcoming season I’m very excited to see what is in store (:

“What do you like to photograph?”

“Oh .. I photograph girls mostly. My work is about capturing the transient moment and fragile condition of a woman.”

“I love that.”

I’m not sure what it was. Maybe it was the upward turn of her chin or the way she looked directly at you when you were talking, but from the moment I met Jacky I knew there was something about her that I liked/wanted to photograph. Ofc, at the time I was still doing my artsy portraits ..

We did this shoot outside our church in a quick 30 mins & I wanted to capture the raw quality of both that day but mostly who Jacky is as a person in processing. But as a whole I think I’ve just been playing w my processing a bit more. Thanks for shooting Jacky, so glad to have met you guuurl ♥

For the longest time I’ve always wanted to do a diptych (quatych in this case?) but never really found the right concept for it. But when I shot Chriselle against this electric blue wall, that age old idea came to me again and it ended up being executed perfectly this time. I’d def love to do more of these! I’m off to bed now but there are a lot more cool concept shoots coming up to post so stay tuned! & stay updated via my instagram: karennchen.
